The breed was developed chiefly by a German cavalry captain, Max von Stephanitz. At a German dog clearly show in 1899 he encountered a male herding Pet of Thuringian stock whose Power, temperament, and wolflike visual appearance impressed him a lot that he bought the Puppy within the location. That
